ITS OK TO BE ME
It’s Okay to Be Me
A guided journal for autistic girls to feel seen, heard, and celebrated
Growing up as an autistic girl can feel isolating. Too often, girls are misunderstood, overlooked, or made to feel that being different is something to hide. It’s Okay to Be Me was created to change that story.
This guided journal is a safe, gentle space where autistic girls can explore their thoughts and feelings without pressure. With calming prompts, space to write or draw, and supportive reflections, it helps girls let go of shame, build self-acceptance, and start to see their differences as gifts.
✨ Why this journal matters
- Designed especially for autistic girls
- Simple, non-overwhelming prompts that support self-expression
- Helps release feelings of shame and builds confidence
- Encourages girls to feel proud, important, and empowered
- Created by a holistic counsellor and mother with lived experience
As both a holistic counsellor and the mum of an autistic daughter, I know how heavy it can feel when a child carries shame about being different. It’s Okay to Be Me was born out of my daughter’s journey and my wish for her — and every girl like her — to know that she is not only enough, but truly special.
This journal isn’t about fixing or changing who they are. It’s about giving them the space and reassurance to be themselves, to feel safe in their own identity, and to know deep down: It really is okay to be me.
